How to Get a Price Quote for this Custom-Built Product

  1. Select Guard Options (Interlock Switch, LED Light)
  2. Choose "Guard Width" and enter below. This is the amount you need covered, when facing the machine from operator position. We can do everything from guard just the rotating chuck, to wider single or double guards covering the point of operation or long parts. Refer to “K” on the Measurement Form
  3. Measure Guard Depth (approximate mounting location to front of guard) and enter below. Refer to measurement form. You will be required to fill out this measurement form after placing an order.
  4. Measure Chuck Diameter or Largest Part Diameter of Lathe and enter below. Also enter Make & Model of Lathe if available.
  5. Enter your contact information, optionally attach machine photos or measurement form, and Submit Quote Request.

This hinged lathe safety guard is custom-built for enhanced lathe machine safety and operator protection. Designed specifically to shield users from flying chips, coolant, and the rotating chuck, it serves as a highly effective lathe chuck safety guard for small to medium-sized machines. Please specify your required coverage width ("Guard Width") when ordering. This product ships fully assembled on a pallet via LTL Freight.

Features

  • Custom-fitted hinged lathe safety guard protects against debris and moving parts, including the chuck area.
  • Ideal for small to medium-sized lathes. If you're using an overhead hoist to load parts, see our sliding lathe safety guards.
  • Available with interlock/safety switch for added protection.
  • Mounts to the existing threaded holes in the gearbox/ lid. You will just need to source longer bolts. Bolt-on installation!
  • Bolt-on installation with frame made from 40mm industrial aluminum extrusion; posts use 40x80mm extrusion.
  • Adjustable design: The aluminum framing allows vertical and horizontal movement during setup.
  • Slotted frame brackets allow front-to-rear positioning and can be adjusted along the length of the extrusion.
  • Features a 1/4" thick Polycarbonate Lexan front and top panel—fully replaceable. We keep each customer’s Lexan dimensions on file for easy reordering.
  • Additional 1/4" Lexan side panel covers the chuck area, reinforcing its role as a lathe chuck safety guard.
  • An 8" orange PVC strip curtain below the guard enhances chip containment while preserving access to the compound handle.
  • Dual gas struts help lift and hold the hinged lathe safety guard open during setup.
  • The handle is pre-installed on the front center bar for easy operation.
  • Available up to 30" wide (common sizes: 18", 24", 30"; 24" shown).
  • LED Light Option available for improved workspace visibility.
